Sherwin and Connie moved in 1987 to Choteau, where Sherwin worked as the county executive director of the USDA’s ASCS agency. Connie worked at home raising their two children. They had grown up in the Fort Benton and Geraldine area of central Montana, and they both became very active in community volunteer work and helping neighbors as soon as they moved to Choteau.
