Minutes of January 15, 2018 Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Stan at 6:30 pm. The minutes of the December 4, 2017 meeting were read and approved as written.

Old Business

Dru said that Mary Shore really appreciated the large turnout for our Christmas dinner on December 11th. Dru also gave Clayton and Perri a cool Cat gift for doing such a good job on their program at the Christmas dinner.
President Stan reported that the club purchased 4 children’s car seats for the Teton County Health Department. The Health Department loans the seat to people in need.

New Business

Lions Steve D and Russ have been working to build our new website. Steve said the website address is https://choteaulions.club. Steve and Russ explained that the donor database will be helpful for fundraising and using this type of technology we may be able attract younger potential members. This web site would cost $7,500.00 to create if we were paying an outside person to build this type of program.

The group discussed that it is difficult for people presenting programs to the club when they need to use a wall for a screen. It that case it is hard for everyone to see the screen during a presentation. Terina Hill will give us a program at our meeting on February 19th on a trip she made to Jamaica. We decided to hold our meeting at the Boy Scout hall on that date. We will order pizzas for the dinner.

Other program ideas are Wendy Hammond, new school principal, the high school speech and debate class, and another presentation by Terina Hill on her trip to Gettysburg. The program committee will work on these ideas.

Committee Reports

The calendar committee reported that most of the calendar lists have been turned in by the January 15th deadline.
The pool committee has scheduled a meeting at the City Hall on Friday January 19th at 5:30.
Steve said that there is good ice on the skating rink but is being used very little.

Other Business

Lions Steve D said that the Cub Scouts Pack could use two Lions to help with the Pinewood Derby on January 27th.

The gun raffle committee will meet to discuss a 2018 raffle. Lion Al volunteered to be on this committee.
